The Old Rectory Wedding Venue

Michelle & Tom’s Old Rectory Wedding

The old rectory wedding venue played host for the wedding of Michelle & Tom and it was a wonderful day!

Weddings for me are always fun! They are even more fun when you get to shoot weddings where you know the bride & groom, and have other friends there. I have to admit it was lovely to provide the Old Rectory Photography for a brilliant couple – I had an excellent time photographing this wedding!

Michelle & Tom are two very relaxed and laid back guys. Their modus operandi is about having fun, and it showed – I mean who has a bouncy castle at a wedding for kids and the adults end up hogging it for a photoshoot!? It was honestly one of those weddings, and I expected nothing less.

The Weather Wasn’t Stopping Play Today!

The good old British weather played its part…. Again! Just when you had all those lovely little ideas in your head for the bride & groom, the rain decides to hit. It was a shame, as the old rectory wedding venue has some lovely little areas to explore for wedding shots, and being my first time here, I was keen to explore all of the opportunities.

Bridal prep was the start of the day for me, and I loved just how much energy was being put into all the preparation. I really loved the colour theme of red. It really suited the whole bridal party and all of the decor at the old rectory wedding venue was dressed in the colour too. Stunning!

The Old Rectory Wedding Venue

I wanted to say a few words about the old rectory wedding venue, as I felt it was one of those venues that don’t feel corporate. It had a very relaxed atmosphere (much like our bride and groom), and the guests clearly enjoyed their time there. All the rooms upstairs are modern, light and airy, and provide a great place of retreat once the dancing (and all the prosecco is drunk) finishes and the bed is calling.

Discrete & Petite Wedding Venue

The reception and ceremony area feel like you are getting married in a lovely country retreat, and this just adds to the relaxed environment. The staff couldn’t be more helpful if they tried & the food service was great. Outside there is a lovely little pagoda that at night is all lit up with l.e.d lights, and a little feature bridge with a pond which would be ideal for some wonderful intimate images with bride and grooms (weather permitting I guess?).

I would say that as a wedding venue goes it is ideal as an all in one solution. Petite & discrete I would call it, but with enough of everything, you would need to make your wedding a truly wonderful day to remember.
